Chris Renews His Parish (CHRP) is a process designed to bring members of a parish together in Christ.  All of our commitments, including our commitment to Christ, need continued renewal if we are to be faithful.  CHRP is an effective spiritual renewal process which calls together the members of the parish - priests, religious and laity - in order to experience personal conversation and Christian community in the environment of our own parish.

 

What CHRP is NOT:                                                                                       

- It is not a silent retreat

- It is not a parish organization

- It is not a public confession

- It is not an emotional cult

- It is not a pre-selected group

- It is not a parish clique

 

Who facilitates the weekends?

 

The renewal weekends are given for PARISHIONERS by a team that has previously attended a CHRP weekend, working together in prayer and love to provide you with a two day, one overnight, live-in experience.

 

What happens on a weekend?

 

Come prepared to have fun and renew your heart.  The process is centered around reflections by team members with emphasis on small group discussions and activities.

 

Topics covered include, God's loving care for us, Scriptures, Eucharist and what Christian life is all about.

 

Sacraments are part of the weekend.  Mass is celebrated both Saturday and Sunday in a chapel set up in the Parish Center.

 

You will be free to share as much or a little as you like.  You and your needs will always be respected.

 

The sharing dialog is stimulated in a very liturgical scriptural and prayerful atmosphere.

 

On Saturday evening, Reconciliation is offered with our parish priest and visiting priests from neighboring parishes.

 

When are where are the weekends held?

 

The weekends will be held in our Parish Center from Saturday morning until Sunday afternoon.  There are separate women's weekends and men's weekends.

 

Sleeping accommodations will be provided and meals will be prepared by volunteer parishioners.  The entire weekend is informal and casual and comfortable clothing is the "uniform of the day".  Every effort will be made to accommodate special needs.
